The Turkish Super Lig has witnessed an extraordinary streak, with red cards shown in six consecutive matches. Despite the chaos, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş failed to capitalize, while Galatasaray extended their lead.
An unusual trend has emerged in Turkey’s Super Lig, where the last six league matches have all featured at least one red card. In total, referees have issued seven red cards, making this one of the most chaotic rounds of the season.
Konyaspor received two red cards but still managed to pull off a shocking 1-0 victory over Beşiktaş with just nine men. Meanwhile, Fenerbahçe also had a numerical advantage but could not break down Samsunspor, settling for a 0-0 draw.
Some teams, however, took full advantage of their extra man. Trabzonspor cruised to a 3-0 win against Basaksehir, while Bodrum secured a 2-0 victory over Rizespor.
At the same time, Göztepe, featuring David Tijanić, could not capitalize on their numerical superiority and were held to a 1-1 draw against Eyüpspor. The Eyüpspor squad, led by former Turkish star Arda Turan, includes Svit Sešlar, currently on loan in Celje and impressing on both domestic and European stages.
Meanwhile, league leaders Galatasaray faced no such struggles, delivering a dominant 4-0 victory over Antalyaspor to extend their lead at the top to nine points.
