The Real Madrid midfielder could leave the Spanish club next season, with Liverpool emerging as the leading contender to sign the Frenchman.
After two seasons in the Spanish capital, Aurélien Tchouaméni might be nearing the end of his time at Real Madrid. The 24-year-old French international joined from Monaco in 2022 for a substantial €80 million fee, arriving with high expectations.
However, despite his talent, Tchouaméni appears to have lost some of the club’s backing, and Madrid may now be considering a sale as early as 2025.
With his market value currently estimated at €100 million, parting ways with Tchouaméni could bring Madrid a strong financial return. Reports suggest that club officials are weighing their options, potentially reshaping their midfield as they look to bring in other targets.
One club watching Tchouaméni’s situation closely is Liverpool. The Reds were on the verge of signing the Frenchman in 2022, only to be beaten by Real Madrid at the last minute.
Now, with Liverpool’s midfield rebuild ongoing and their summer pursuit of Martín Zubimendi having fallen through, the Merseyside club is reportedly ready to revive their interest in Tchouaméni.
Adding fuel to the rumors, Madrid’s interest in Manchester City’s Rodri could push Tchouaméni further down the pecking order, making his departure more likely. With Liverpool still in need of a strong, versatile holding midfielder, the timing might finally be right for the Frenchman to make his way to Anfield.
