Torino’s Samuele Ricci is linked with Manchester City and Real Madrid as both clubs search for midfield reinforcements. Will the Italian international make a move?
Samuele Ricci, the 23-year-old Torino midfielder and Italian international, is reportedly on Manchester City’s radar as they search for a replacement for Rodri, whose absence has been deeply felt by Pep Guardiola’s side during a difficult run of form.
Ricci, known for his quality and potential for growth, has impressed both at club and international level, making him an attractive prospect for Guardiola. While Rodri remains almost irreplaceable, the Cityzens are actively exploring options to fill the void in midfield.
The young Italian is under contract with Torino until 2026, and the club is keen to extend his deal until 2029. His market value has risen significantly, climbing from €12 million to €28 million, which could complicate any potential transfer. Torino is reportedly reluctant to let their star player leave, but Manchester City’s interest—and potentially that of Real Madrid—might test their resolve.
Real Madrid is also rumored to be monitoring Ricci, as injuries in their squad have left Carlo Ancelotti short on midfield options. While Madrid is generally conservative when it comes to mid-season transfers, the current situation could force their hand.
With both City and Madrid reportedly in the mix, Ricci’s future could take a significant turn. Whether he leaves Serie A or stays in Italy remains to be seen, but the race to secure his signature will likely heat up in the coming months.
