Rijeka are chasing Guinean striker Mohamed Guindo, but face competition from clubs across Europe including Galatasaray, Blackburn, and Cincinnati.
Rijeka are pushing to reinforce their attack ahead of a crucial Champions League qualifier against Ludogorets, and the latest name linked with the Croatian club is Mohamed Guindo, a rising 21-year-old striker from Guinea.
After announcing the arrivals of Omar Sijarić and Dominik Yankov, Rijeka are now focusing on their thinnest area — the forward line. With Toni Fruk expected to leave, and neither Duje Čop nor Dominik Dogan securing their spots, the search for a new striker has become urgent.
Guindo spent last season at La Louvière, a club competing in Belgium’s second tier, where he registered 8 goals and 3 assists in 27 appearances. His performances have caught the attention of multiple European clubs, and Rijeka are not alone in the race.
Reported suitors include Blackburn Rovers, FC Cincinnati, Galatasaray, Nürnberg, Estoril, and clubs from the Belgian and Dutch first divisions.
According to Transfermarkt, Guindo is valued at €450,000, but given the number of interested clubs, any transfer could exceed that figure.
If Rijeka are serious about signing him, they’ll need to move quickly and decisively — and likely convince the young forward that Champions League football and a key role in the team await him on the Kvarner coast.
