Rio Ferdinand has announced his new role at the EA SPORTS FC Mobile Festival in Bangkok after leaving TNT Sports, marking the beginning of a global chapter in his post-punditry career.

Rio Ferdinand has revealed his first new venture since leaving TNT Sports, confirming he’ll be heading to Bangkok for the upcoming EA SPORTS FC Mobile Festival after wrapping up a decade-long punditry career.

The Manchester United legend ended his time with the broadcaster by covering the 2025 Champions League final between Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain. Rather than taking a break, the 46-year-old is already embracing his next adventure—this time in Asia.

Ferdinand announced the news to his 11.6 million X (formerly Twitter) followers, posting: “Next stop, Bangkok… I’m heading to the EA SPORTS FC Mobile Festival — where passion, skill, and football culture collide!”

The two-day event, held June 14–15 at BCC Hall in Central Ladprao, will bring together elite mobile gamers, football influencers, and fans from across Asia and the Middle East, with Visa serving as the presenting sponsor.

Ferdinand reportedly turned down a new contract with TNT Sports, parting on good terms. Reflecting on his exit, he said: "It’s been a privilege talking about the game I love for a decade... I carry with me countless memories and look forward to spending more time with family and focusing on my other ventures."

Beyond broadcasting, Ferdinand has built a growing off-pitch empire. He runs a successful YouTube channel with over 1.3 million subscribers, a clothing brand named FIVE with Sports Direct, and a management company New Era partnered with WME.

There’s also increasing speculation of a potential move to Dubai, as Ferdinand and his wife Kate have reportedly been exploring schools and properties in the UAE for their growing family.
