Romania is pursuing Olimpija’s Raul Florucz for their national team and top club FCSB, with potential for a major transfer deal in January.
Raul Florucz has caught the attention of Romanian football. Both the Romanian Football Federation and Steaua București (FCSB), the country's biggest club, are pursuing the Olimpija Ljubljana player. Florucz, whose parents are of Romanian descent, is being courted by Romania's national team as well as the top-tier Romanian club.
While Romanian national coach Mircea Lucescu has made his case to include Florucz in the national team, Austria, where the player is also eligible to play, might struggle to fit him into their plans under Ralf Rangnick. In Romania, the interest extends beyond international duty, as FCSB has expressed serious interest in bringing the talented midfielder to their ranks.
Florucz, currently one of Olimpija's brightest talents, is being eyed as the club's next big transfer following the sale of Svit Sešlar for €2.5 million. FCSB, a club with a history of spending large transfer fees, could potentially break their transfer record for Florucz, with the club having paid up to €3 million for players like Florinel Coman in the past.
With several key matches still ahead in the Conference League, Florucz has a chance to further increase his value before the January transfer window opens.
