Manchester United are eyeing Vanja Milinković-Savić as their next goalkeeper, while Arsenal and Liverpool go head-to-head for Ajax’s Jorrel Hato. Leeds risk losing Manor Solomon to Marseille.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Manchester United have made initial contact over a move for Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinković-Savić, as the club actively seeks a new shot-stopper this summer.
The 28-year-old Serbian international—also the younger brother of midfielder Sergej Milinković-Savić—is reportedly on a shortlist at Old Trafford. According to The Daily Mirror, Vanja has a €20 million (£16.9m) release clause and only a year left on his deal, meaning a cut-price deal could be on the cards.
Interestingly, Vanja was once on United’s books in 2015, but work permit issues forced the club to release him. Now an established international with 11 Serie A clean sheets and a 77.1% save rate—higher than any current Premier League keeper—he could become a smart summer addition.
Meanwhile, Arsenal and Liverpool are locked in a transfer race for 19-year-old Ajax centre-back Jorrel Hato. Valued at £40 million, the Dutch defender is reportedly keen on a Premier League move, with his connection to Jurriën Timber possibly giving Arsenal an edge.
However, both clubs are yet to make formal offers, and Real Madrid and Chelsea have also shown interest. Still, Hato’s Premier League ambition may tip the scales in favour of England’s top two contenders.
Elsewhere, Leeds United could lose their promotion hero Manor Solomon. The Tottenham winger, who scored the winner in Leeds’ Championship title-clinching match, is attracting serious interest from Marseille. French outlet Team Football claim discussions are already underway, with manager Roberto De Zerbi viewing Solomon as a potential replacement for Luis Henrique.
Leeds want to keep the Israeli winger but face a battle, especially with Solomon’s price tag estimated around £15 million. Much may depend on the player’s desire to stay in England or try life on the French Riviera.
