Alisha Lehmann has revealed her pick in the long-running Messi vs Ronaldo debate, choosing the Portuguese icon while also sharing admiration for Alexia Putellas and her love for the Premier League.
Alisha Lehmann has officially joined the global GOAT debate — and her answer is bound to make headlines. In a new video interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, the Como Women forward chose Cristiano Ronaldo over Lionel Messi, adding her voice to one of football’s most enduring discussions.
The Switzerland international, who joined Como from Juventus in the summer, smiled as she gave her answer, saying she sided with the Portuguese superstar. Both Ronaldo and Messi remain active — the former playing in Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr and the latter shining in MLS with Inter Miami — but Lehmann made it clear which legend she prefers.
During the quickfire Q&A, Lehmann also discussed her football dreams and fashion style. “My dream would be to score a goal in a World Cup final, no doubt,” she said, before revealing she loves “football boots and kits during the day, but dresses and heels at night.”
Asked to choose between Serie A and the Premier League, the 26-year-old surprised Italian fans with her answer: “To watch, I think Premier League.” Lehmann spent six years in England, playing for West Ham, Everton, and Aston Villa, before moving to Italy in 2024.
When the conversation shifted to women’s football, Lehmann didn’t hesitate to pick Alexia Putellas over Aitana Bonmatí, praising the Barcelona star as “amazing.”
Lehmann’s life in Como has been a fresh chapter in her career. After a challenging season at Juventus, she joined the independent Lombardy-based club for its unique approach to women’s football. “It’s a project with real purpose and vision,” she told The Guardian. “Independent clubs like Como Women have the opportunity to lead the movement.”
The Swiss forward has already made her mark in Italy, helping Como Women pull off a shock 1-0 win over defending champions Juventus in Serie A Femminile — a result that highlighted both her influence and the team’s growing ambitions.
