Roy Keane slammed Trent Alexander-Arnold’s defensive skills after Liverpool’s match against Manchester United, humorously suggesting he belongs in Tranmere, not Real Madrid.

Roy Keane, former Manchester United captain, has reignited his criticism of Trent Alexander-Arnold, calling out the Liverpool right-back's defensive frailties after a lackluster performance in the derby against Manchester United. The Irishman did not hold back, linking Alexander-Arnold’s struggles to the rumors of a Real Madrid transfer.

Keane's scathing assessment

Keane, known for his blunt commentary, took aim at Alexander-Arnold's defensive lapses, dismissing the idea that he’s ready for a club like Real Madrid.

"We talk about how great he is in attack, but his defense today... oh my god. It was like watching a schoolboy. People say he’s going to Real Madrid, but with that defense, he’s only fit for Tranmere," Keane remarked.

Tranmere Rovers respond with humor

Tranmere Rovers, a fourth-division club based in Merseyside, quickly joined the banter. The club humorously dismissed Keane’s suggestion on social media, posting:

"Trent to Tranmere, Roy? Nah, we’re good," alongside a picture of their current right-back, Cameron Norman, in a light-hearted rebuttal.
