Ruben Dias showed his romantic side with Maya Jama but his drawing skills stole the spotlight after the presenter shared his funny portrait online.

Manchester City defender Ruben Dias proved he is far more comfortable reading attackers than sketching portraits after partner Maya Jama revealed his Valentine’s Day artwork online.

The couple spent the day together during a short break in their schedules and chose a relaxed dinner instead of a public event. During the evening, they were invited to draw portraits of each other, which quickly turned into the highlight of the night.

Jama shared the images with followers and laughed at Dias’ attempt to capture her face. The Portuguese international’s drawing looked nothing like the presenter's, but the effort clearly entertained her, and she joked they were both future “Picasso” artists.

The moment offered a rare glimpse into Dias’ private personality. On the pitch, he is known as one of the most serious defenders in European football, a leader who organises Manchester City’s back line and rarely shows emotion during matches.

Off the pitch, the evening showed a lighter side. Jama praised the effort, and the pair spent the rest of the night joking about the result while enjoying their meal together.

The reunion came after Jama returned from filming Love Island All-Stars in South Africa. Dias, meanwhile, had domestic duties as part of Pep Guardiola’s squad for the FA Cup tie against Salford City at the Etihad Stadium.

The centre-back stayed on the bench as City secured a comfortable 2-0 victory, allowing him to spend more time with Jama afterwards. She later attended the match after receiving several romantic surprises earlier in the day.

Dias welcomed her with a bouquet of 100 red roses and a luxury Chanel gift waiting at home. Jama joked on social media that she almost wore red to the stadium before remembering City’s colours: “Might not go down too well!”

The couple have recently been building a life together in the north west of England after Jama spent most of her career based in London. They also faced a difficult moment when their Cheshire house was burgled, and items worth more than £1 million were reportedly stolen. Police investigations remain ongoing.

Despite the disruption, their relationship appears stable, with both continuing demanding careers. Jama balances television projects and brand partnerships while Dias remains a key figure for club and country.

The defender is expected to return to action soon when Manchester City host Newcastle United on February 21. Guardiola’s team currently chase Arsenal in the Premier League title race, and Dias is set to play an important role during the decisive weeks of the season.
