Wrexham re-signed striker Davis Keillor-Dunn on deadline day as Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac backed another move to boost the club’s Championship promotion push.
Wrexham moved decisively on deadline day, confirming the return of Davis Keillor-Dunn from Barnsley as Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac continue to invest heavily in the club’s promotion push.
The striker joined for an undisclosed fee and signed a contract running until the end of the 2028-29 season. He becomes Wrexham’s second signing of the January transfer window.
Keillor-Dunn arrives in strong form. He was Barnsley’s top scorer this season with 16 goals and now steps into the Championship with a clear task. Add goals. Push for the play-offs.
The move also carries history. Keillor-Dunn previously played for Wrexham during the 2019-20 season, and the club made no secret of its long-term interest.
Manager Phil Parkinson welcomed the striker back.
"We have been watching his development closely over the last 18 months at Barnsley. We are delighted to bring him back and look forward to him joining the squad," Parkinson said.
Keillor-Dunn made his feelings clear on his return.
"When Wrexham call, there is only one place you want to go. After speaking with the manager, I knew this was where I wanted to be. The club is moving forward and this feels like the right time," he said.
"To walk back through the doors here means a lot. I am genuinely happy to be back," Keillor-Dunn added.
The signing also drew attention from outside the club. Wayne Jones, owner of The Turf pub made famous by Welcome to Wrexham, posted online:
"Welcome back to the club DKD. This kid scores goals for fun," he wrote.
Keillor-Dunn followed earlier deadline-day business, with Wrexham also securing Zak Vyner from Bristol City, further strengthening the squad.
Wrexham currently sit sixth in the Championship and remain firmly in the play-off race. Attention now turns to Saturday’s clash with Millwall, who sit one place and three points ahead.
The sides already met earlier this season, when Wrexham won 2-0. With momentum building and reinforcements secured, belief inside the club continues to grow.
