Bukayo Saka scored just before half-time to give Arsenal a 1-0 lead over Atletico Madrid, putting the Gunners ahead 2-1 on aggregate.
The second leg of the Champions League semi-final between Arsenal and Atletico Madrid is underway in London, with the home side holding the advantage at half-time.
The first match in Spain ended 1-1, leaving everything open ahead of a decisive night at the Emirates Stadium.
Atletico Madrid started the game with more intent. Julian Alvarez found himself in two promising positions early on, but failed to convert, first missing the target and then being stopped by a defender.
Arsenal remained patient and controlled their tempo. In the 20th minute, Gabriel tried his luck from distance, but his effort went wide.
Clear chances were limited for both sides, but Arsenal gradually became more aggressive and pushed forward as the half progressed.
The breakthrough arrived at the perfect moment. In the 45th minute, Bukayo Saka reacted quickest after Leandro Trossard forced a save from Jan Oblak, converting the rebound to make it 1-0.
The goal gives Arsenal a 2-1 aggregate lead at the break, placing them in a strong position to reach the final.
