Napoli moved three points clear at the top of Serie A after a 2-0 win over Torino, while Inter's title hopes faded with a home defeat to Roma.

Napoli seized control of the Serie A title race on Sunday, claiming top spot with a 2-0 victory over Torino at home.

Scott McTominay was the hero for the hosts, scoring twice — first in the seventh minute, then again in the 41st — to secure a vital three points. Napoli now sit three points clear of Inter Milan with just four rounds of the season remaining.

Inter stumble again:
Earlier in the day, Inter suffered a damaging 1-0 home defeat to Roma, marking their third consecutive loss across all competitions.

Matias Soulé scored the only goal for Roma in the 22nd minute. After previous defeats against Bologna in Serie A and AC Milan in the Coppa Italia semi-final, Inter’s hopes of retaining the title now hang by a thread.

Inter and Napoli had entered the weekend level on points, but with Napoli’s victory, they move clear at the summit with momentum on their side. Meanwhile, Roma climbed to seventh in the table with 60 points.

Fiorentina edge Empoli:
Elsewhere, Fiorentina secured a 2-1 home win against Empoli in Florence. Goals from Yacine Adli and Rolando Mandragora put the Viola in control, before Jacopo Facchini pulled one back for Empoli in the second half.

Marin Pongracic played the full 90 minutes for Fiorentina, who sit eighth with 59 points. Empoli remain deep in trouble, second from bottom with just 25 points.
