Hull City manager Sergej Jakirović has revealed that Toni Fruk, Rokas Pukštas and Marco Pašalić are among the players being considered as the newly promoted Premier League club looks to strengthen its squad this summer.

After guiding Hull to a surprise promotion to the Premier League, Jakirović is preparing for the biggest challenge of his coaching career. The Croatian manager admitted the club is working quickly in the transfer market after losing several important players and undergoing changes behind the scenes.

Squad rebuild underway

Hull recently replaced sporting director Jared Dublin with Okan Özkan, who is now leading recruitment alongside Jakirović.

"The owner made the decision. I won't go into the reasons or the details. Okan Özkan has arrived, and we're working quickly. I told him what I need, which positions and the type of players I'm looking for. As a coach, I hope he'll bring me even better players than the ones I've asked for," Jakirović told Germanijak.

HNL players on Hull's radar

The Croatian coach confirmed that several players from the Croatian top flight feature on Hull's shortlist.

"We've already held talks with some players, although the recent changes have altered certain things. The new sporting director has his own ideas and contacts and may bring in even better players."

"For example, we've put Toni Fruk and Rokas Pukštas from the HNL on our list. We also tried to sign Hoxha, whom I wanted previously. Marco Pašalić is another option for the right wing."

Jakirović stressed that his choices are based on quality rather than nationality or previous relationships.

"These are players I trust completely, players who would dive head-first off a building if that's what the team needed. But that doesn't mean I'd sign someone simply because we know each other or because we're from the same country. Not at all. Every transfer requires consensus within the club. We'll see what happens."

Hull preparing for Premier League challenge

Hull's promotion has forced the club to accelerate its recruitment plans as it looks to build a squad capable of competing in one of the world's toughest leagues.

Fruk has emerged as one of the standout performers in Croatian football, while Pukštas continues to attract interest after establishing himself as a key player. Pašalić has also impressed with his attacking qualities, making all three players logical candidates for clubs seeking value in smaller European leagues.

With the transfer window still open, Hull's shortlist could evolve further, but Jakirović has now publicly confirmed that several of the HNL's brightest talents are firmly on the club's radar.
