Sergio Ramos has officially entered football’s elite club, reaching 1000 career matches after featuring in Monterrey’s CONCACAF Champions League clash against Vancouver Whitecaps.
The Spanish icon, who joined Monterrey earlier this year, showed no signs of slowing down despite an eight-month absence from competitive football before his move. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, with Monterrey eliminated on away goals, but the night still carried historic significance for Ramos.
The 37-year-old’s incredible journey has seen him represent some of the biggest clubs and national teams in football history. His 1000 professional appearances break down as follows:
- Real Madrid: 671 matches
- Spain national team: 180 matches
- Sevilla: 87 matches
- Paris Saint-Germain: 57 matches
- Monterrey: 5 matches
Ramos remains one of the most decorated defenders in football, winning multiple Champions League and La Liga titles with Real Madrid, as well as a World Cup and two European Championships with Spain.
With this milestone achieved, Ramos now continues his career in Mexico, proving that his influence and leadership remain invaluable.
