Manchester United are preparing for their third pre-season match of the summer. After a defeat against EFL Championship side Wrexham and a victory over Norwegian outfit Rosenborg, the Red Devils have so far played without forward Benjamin Šeško.

Following a minor injury layoff, the 23-year-old Slovenian striker has been following an individual training program. Rather than joining the squad for the initial trip to Scandinavia, Benjamin Šeško stayed behind at the Carrington training centre to work on his rehabilitation.
His recovery in Manchester is progressing strictly according to plan. Šeško himself recently teased his impending return to full training and match action with a social media update.
Reports in the English media suggest that Šeško could re-join first-team group training as early as this weekend. Manchester United face Atletico Madrid in Stockholm on August 1. While a showdown against international teammate Jan Oblak may come too soon, a more realistic target for Šeško's return is the friendly against Paris Saint-Germain on August 8 in Ireland.
United will wrap up their pre-season preparations on August 12 against Leeds United — featuring fellow Slovenian international Jaka Bijol — at Croke Park. Erik ten Hag’s side will then launch their 2026/27 Premier League campaign on August 22 against Hull City.
