Benjamin Šeško already belongs among the most productive attacking players of his generation. The Manchester United and Slovenia striker features prominently in an interesting ranking published by French football platform PopFoot.
The list compares the career goal totals of leading attacking players born in 2000 or later. Šeško sits sixth with 118 goals in 287 appearances, but his goals-per-game record makes his position even more impressive.
There is absolutely no competition at the top. Erling Haaland has scored an extraordinary 361 goals in 438 matches, averaging 0.82 goals per game.
Jonathan David is second with 196 goals in 444 appearances, while Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior has 159 in 505. Julian Alvarez follows with 154 goals from 391 matches, ahead of Dušan Vlahović with 136 from 347.
Šeško has the third-best scoring average
Šeško's total of 118 goals puts him sixth overall, ahead of Ferran Torres, Phil Foden, Lois Openda, Dominik Szoboszlai, Mason Greenwood and Rodrygo. However, when the numbers are measured by efficiency, the Slovenian climbs even higher.
His average of 0.41 goals per match is bettered by only Haaland (0.82) and David (0.44) among the players on the list. That puts the 23-year-old Manchester United striker ahead of several of Europe's biggest attacking names.

Another interesting detail is that Phil Foden is the only player in the ranking who has spent his entire senior club career with one team, Manchester City.
The list also includes three players who represented Juventus during the 2025/26 season – David, Vlahović and Openda – despite the Turin club enduring a disappointing Serie A campaign. For Slovenian football, however, the most striking number is Šeško's: only two players of his generation score more frequently.
