Shakira has announced the official song for the 2026 World Cup, with fans already celebrating her return after the legendary success of Waka Waka.
Shakira is officially returning to the World Cup, and football fans around the globe are already celebrating.
The Colombian superstar announced that she will perform the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking her first tournament anthem since the unforgettable “ Waka Waka” at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
The new song is titled “Dai Dai”, which translates as “let’s go”, and features Nigerian star Burna Boy.
The track is scheduled for release on May 14.
Shakira revealed the first teaser on social media, featuring a spectacular video filmed inside the iconic Maracanã Stadium in Brazil.
In the clip, the singer appears wearing a yellow top and blue shorts while holding a football in the middle of the stadium.
She is surrounded by dancers and performers dressed in the colors of different nations before launching into a choreographed routine.
The teaser ends with fireworks exploding above the stadium as the message “ We are ready” appears across the screen.
Shakira wrote alongside the video:
" From Maracaná Stadium, here is 'Dai Dai,' the FIFA World Cup Official Song 2026. Coming 5/14. We're ready!"
The reaction online was immediate.
Fans flooded social media with excitement, with many comparing the new project to the legendary success of “ Waka Waka”, still considered one of the greatest football songs ever recorded.

Others praised the emotional connection between Shakira and football culture.

Shakira's relationship with football grew even stronger during her 11-year relationship with former Barcelona and Spain defender Gerard Piqué; . The couple had two sons together, Milan and Sasha.
The 2026 World Cup will begin on June 11, with hosts Mexico facing South Africa in Mexico City.
The final will take place on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New York.
