Midtjylland player Alamara Djabi survives a knife attack, undergoes surgery, and remains in stable but serious condition.
FC Midtjylland and the wider Danish football community are in shock after a violent attack on young player Alamara Djabi.
The 19-year-old from Guinea-Bissau was stabbed and required emergency surgery. He is now in a stable condition, although his situation remains serious.
The motives behind the attack are still unknown.
The club confirmed the update in an official statement:
" Alamara Djabi was seriously injured in a knife attack and is now in a stable condition after two operations. He has woken up from an induced coma and is feeling well under the circumstances."
Midtjylland also stressed their ongoing support:
" We are in close contact with the authorities and are offering all support to him and his family."
Djabi has already faced a difficult season due to injury setbacks. He joined the Danish club in 2022 after developing in the Portuguese football system.
He came through the academy of Benfica and gained attention during a loan spell at Mafra, which led to his return to Midtjylland.
The focus now remains fully on his recovery, as support continues to arrive from across the football world.
