Slavko Vinčić earns a prestigious accolade as the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) ranks him the second-best referee globally for 2024.
Slovenian referee Slavko Vinčić has achieved a remarkable milestone in his already illustrious career. The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has recognized him as the second-best referee in the world for 2024.
The ranking, established by a panel of journalists and football experts from 90 countries, placed Vinčić in second position with 86 points. He was narrowly beaten by François Letexier of France, who received 126 points, while Daniele Orsato of Italy secured third place.
Vinčić's outstanding performances in 2024 included officiating the UEFA Champions League final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund and the European Championship semifinal featuring France and Spain.
This recognition underscores Vinčić’s growing reputation as one of the best referees in the sport, further solidifying his status on the global stage.
