São Paulo signs ex-Porto left-back Wendell on a contract until 2027. The 31-year-old Brazilian international is set for an immediate debut in the Paulistão.
São Paulo has officially announced the signing of Wendell, the 31-year-old left-back, who arrived in Brazil on Monday (3rd) after securing his release from FC Porto. The former Brazil international has signed a contract until the end of 2027 and will wear the No. 18 jersey for the Tricolor Paulista.
Wendell set for immediate debut
The club unveiled Wendell on its social media, sharing images of him in the new São Paulo kit, which he is expected to wear for the first time on Wednesday (5th) against Mirassol in the Paulistão. His official presentation as a São Paulo player will take place on Thursday (6th) at the Barra Funda training center.

Wendell’s career journey
Wendell joined FC Porto in 2021, making 109 appearances, scoring seven goals, and providing nine assists. Before moving to Europe, he played for Iraty, Londrina, and Grêmio, before securing a move to Bayer Leverkusen, where he spent seven seasons in the Bundesliga.
