Today, Lamine Yamal became the youngest goal scorer in the history of the European Championships.

The young Spanish star Lamine Yamal scored his first goal at the European Championship just four days before his 17th birthday, writing his name in the history of the tournament in golden letters.

Yamal became the youngest footballer to score a goal at the European Championship – achieving this at 16 years, 11 months, and 27 days old. This significantly surpasses the record set by Swiss player Johan Vonlanthen, who was 18 years, four months, and 20 days old when he scored.

Yamal, who had already contributed three assists in the European Championship, spectacularly beat France's goalkeeper Mike Maignan. His stunning goal has further strengthened his candidacy for the best player of the tournament – the award for the best young player of the Euro is likely already decided.
