Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti says Dušan Vlahović would be happy to stay in Turin, hinting that talks over a new deal could be revived soon.

Luciano Spalletti may have already made a crucial impact at Juventus — by softening Dušan Vlahović’s stance on his future in Turin.

The Serbian striker’s contract with the Bianconeri runs only until the end of this season, and previous renewal talks had completely broken down. Juventus wanted him to accept a pay cut, while Vlahović reportedly demanded a salary increase.

‘He’d be happy to stay here’

Speaking before Juventus’ Champions League clash with Sporting, Spalletti revealed that his conversations with the 24-year-old forward had been encouraging.

“He has a small advantage because he knows what Juventus is and understands the pressure here. I spoke with Dušan, and he’d be very happy to stay. He isn’t worried about the contract — he’s only thinking about football,” said Spalletti.

From sidelined to indispensable

Vlahović’s situation has changed dramatically over the past few months. During the summer, Juventus reportedly tried to sell him to avoid losing him for free and even benched him to push through a move. But despite that, he remains the club’s top scorer this season, forcing his way back into the starting lineup.

From January onwards, Vlahović will be free to negotiate with other clubs and sign a pre-contract ahead of a potential free transfer next summer. However, Spalletti’s arrival could alter the course of those discussions, giving Juventus renewed hope of keeping their star striker.
