In a heartwarming gesture of respect and compassion, Liverpool Football Club has announced that legendary Swedish coach Sven-Goran Eriksson will join the coaching staff for an upcoming charity match between Liverpool and Ajax legends.

This announcement comes amidst the poignant news of Eriksson's battle with an incurable form of cancer, with the former England manager revealing he may have at most a year to live.

Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool's current manager, took the initiative to fulfill Eriksson's long-held dream – to manage the club he has supported since childhood, if only for a day. The 75-year-old Eriksson's appointment for the match, scheduled for March 23 at Anfield, is a touching tribute to his illustrious career and a poignant reminder of the fraternity and humanity within football.

The match, part of a series of similar charity events organized by Liverpool, will see participation from former players like Sander Westerveld, Martin Škrtel, Fabio Aurelio, Gregory Vignal, Djibril Cisse, Jerzy Dudek, and Ryan Babel, celebrating the rich history and legacy of the club while contributing to a noble cause.
