Aurelien Tchouameni admitted the clash with Federico Valverde was unacceptable and apologized after Real Madrid’s dressing room scandal shocked Spain.
Aurelien Tchouameni has finally spoken publicly after the explosive dressing room incident involving Federico Valverde at Real Madrid.
The French midfielder released a statement following days of controversy surrounding the clash that reportedly erupted after training at Valdebebas.
The confrontation between the two teammates shocked Spanish football and intensified concerns about the atmosphere inside the Madrid dressing room.
Valverde previously confirmed that a conflict took place but strongly denied reports claiming Tchouameni physically punched him.
Now the French international has also shared his version of events.
" What happened in training this week was unacceptable, I say, thinking about the example we should be setting for young people. In football or in schools."
" Regardless of who is right and who is wrong, we should always seek peaceful solutions to resolve the conflict."
Tchouameni also apologized for the damage caused to the club's image during an already difficult season.
"Above all, I am sorry for the image we have given the club. I know that the players, the fans, the management, and also the technical staff are deeply disappointed with how the season has gone, but frustration does not justify what happened in training."
The midfielder admitted tensions exist in every dressing room but stressed that such incidents should never happen at a club like Real Madrid.
" Such incidents can happen in any dressing room, but they are not worthy of Real Madrid."
Tchouameni avoided discussing details about the physical confrontation itself and refused to assign blame publicly.
" Now is not the time to find out who did what, who said what, or who was right and who was wrong. I accept the punishment from the club and respect it."
The Frenchman ended his message by emphasizing unity inside the squad despite recent conflicts.
"We remain a family. Sometimes with disagreements, but our goals always come before everything else. I apologized to the team, and I apologize to the fans."
The controversy continues to dominate headlines in Spain as Real Madrid prepare for a highly tense El Clasico against Barcelona.
