Marc-André ter Stegen has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Galatasaray, as the Turkish champions prepare a move for the unhappy Barcelona captain this summer.
Marc-André ter Stegen appears set to leave Barcelona after nearly a decade at the club, with Turkish giants Galatasaray reportedly agreeing personal terms with the frustrated German goalkeeper.
The 33-year-old, who became Barcelona’s captain last summer, has grown increasingly disillusioned with his role after returning from injury during the 2024/25 season. Despite expecting to regain his place in goal, new head coach Hansi Flick stuck with Inaki Peña and Wojciech Szczesny, both of whom outperformed Ter Stegen during his absence.
According to Fanatik, Galatasaray have moved swiftly to capitalise on the situation, reaching an agreement with Ter Stegen while preparing to negotiate terms with Barcelona. A loan deal with a buy option is being considered if a permanent transfer cannot be agreed immediately.
SOURCE: SPORT also confirms Galatasaray’s growing confidence in landing the veteran keeper, who has faced years of scrutiny from fans despite being a mainstay since his 2014 arrival. Ter Stegen is now likely to leave before Barcelona’s pre-season starts on July 13.
Barcelona are also expected to finalise the signing of Joan Garcia from Espanyol, reinforcing the belief that Ter Stegen’s time at Camp Nou is coming to a close.
