Carlos Tevez and Independiente are embroiled in a financial dispute, with each side claiming the other owes money. The former Argentina star may face court over the issue.

Carlos Tevez finds himself at odds with Independiente after ending his second managerial stint on his own terms. The club insists that Tevez owes them a $100,000 compensation fee for his early departure, while Tevez claims that Independiente is actually the one in debt to him, citing two unpaid salaries.

"I’m not sure; we might end up in court. They say I owe them money, but they’re the ones who owe me. I left Independiente without compensation, and they lied to me. They still owe me two months’ wages," Tevez stated, expressing frustration over what he feels is a lack of appreciation for his efforts.

According to Argentine media, Independiente’s unpaid wages to Tevez amount to around $200,000.

Tevez, who wrapped up his playing career at Boca Juniors in 2021 after stints with Manchester United and Juventus, began his coaching journey with Rosario Central in 2022.
