Young Spanish forward Toni Fernandez will forever remember his debut for Barcelona’s B team, officially named Barcelona Atletic, which competes in the third tier of Spanish football.
In the third round of the league, his team secured their first victory of the season against Ourense. The match ended 3-0, with all the goals scored in the last 15 minutes of the first half.
The scorers for Barcelona were Victor Barbera in the 31st minute from a penalty, Toni Fernandez in the 41st minute, and Guille Fernandez in the 45th minute. The goal scored by Toni to make it 2-0 was historic, as at 16 years and 33 days old, he became the youngest scorer in Barcelona B’s history on his debut, and the goal itself was spectacular.

After a typical Barca-style move, the ball reached Fernandez, who at the top of the penalty area passed it to Oscar Urena (21) from the Dominican Republic and continued his run into the heart of the penalty area. Urena skillfully controlled the ball and lofted it towards Fernandez, who executed an acrobatic scissor kick to increase Barcelona’s lead.
Fernandez is a Spanish U-17 international, having made 14 appearances and scored five goals for the national youth teams. His primary position is as a striker, but he can also play on both wings and as an attacking midfielder. His contract with Barcelona runs until the summer of 2027.
