Former Real Madrid star Toni Kroos humorously expressed concern about living near coach Carlo Ancelotti, despite being happily retired from football.
After hanging up his boots at the end of last season, Toni Kroos continues to enjoy his retirement, but he remains close to the action as he still resides in Madrid. In a recent conversation, Kroos was asked if his retirement was final, to which he confirmed he had no plans to return to professional football. However, Kroos revealed, with a touch of humor, that Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid’s head coach, lives just 100 meters away from him.
"I’m still a little scared because Carlo Ancelotti lives about 100 meters from me. At least he hasn’t entered my house yet," said Kroos, laughing.
Ancelotti has repeatedly stated that the door is always open for Kroos at Real Madrid, but for now, the German midfield maestro is enjoying his post-football life. Meanwhile, Real Madrid is adjusting to life without Kroos, and the recent 2-0 victory over Real Betis, led by Kylian Mbappé's two goals, has brought some peace to the dressing room.
During his illustrious career with Real Madrid, Kroos made 465 appearances, scoring 28 goals and providing 99 assists.
