L’Équipe report growing frustration around Bradley Barcola at PSG, with strong competition in attack raising doubts over his long-term role ahead of the summer window.
According to L’Équipe, Paris Saint-Germain could be heading towards a delicate situation involving Bradley Barcola, one of the club’s most talented attacking players.
Barcola remains an important part of PSG’s attacking rotation and is widely regarded as a player with elite potential. However, head coach Luis Enrique is struggling to offer him consistent starts amid fierce competition that includes Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé.
Increased competition changes the picture
The 23-year-old played a meaningful role in PSG’s Champions League-winning campaign, but the second half of the season has brought tougher internal competition. The arrival of Kvaratskhelia in January significantly altered the balance in attacking positions and, according to French media, triggered Barcola’s doubts about his long-term status at the club.
Although Barcola is under contract until 2028, sources close to the situation suggest he is no longer fully convinced about extending his deal under the current circumstances.
Europe watching closely
Interest in Barcola is nothing new. Last summer, Bayern Munich and Liverpool both explored potential moves, but the winger ultimately stayed at the Parc des Princes.
This season, the former Olympique Lyon academy graduate has made 22 appearances, scoring five goals, all in Ligue 1. While his form has fluctuated, PSG still publicly view him as a significant asset.
Summer debate expected
Nevertheless, speculation is intensifying ahead of the transfer window. Loïc Tanzi of L’Équipe believes Barcola’s situation will become a major talking point.
“I think Barcola will be a serious topic next summer. His departure from PSG will certainly be discussed,” Tanzi said.
PSG already looking ahead?
In parallel, PSG are reportedly monitoring potential alternatives. Among the names mentioned is Yan Diomandé from RB Leipzig, a move that could indicate early planning for a possible reshuffle in the attacking line.
For now, Barcola remains a PSG player. But with elite competition, stalled extension talks and growing external interest, the summer could mark a turning point — for both the player and the Parisian club.
