A Bayern Munich youth camp in Germany was shut down after a coach collapsed and died on the pitch, leaving young players and staff in deep shock.

A tragedy has cast a shadow over a Bayern Munich summer camp held in Riesa, Saxony, after a coach collapsed on the field and later died in hospital. The incident occurred shortly after lunch, with emergency services arriving swiftly—but despite all efforts, the man could not be saved.

The coach, whose identity has not been publicly disclosed, was working at the football academy of Austrian side Hartberg, where he trained the club’s under-13 team.

The camp, which hosted around 120 children and teenagers from across the region, was immediately suspended following the tragic event. According to Bild, the children were deeply shaken, and organisers decided to halt all remaining activities out of respect and concern for the participants’ well-being.

Hartberg paid tribute to their late staff member with a heartfelt message:
"His friendly, helpful and professional manner made him very popular with all players, parents, colleagues and club officials. His sudden death has left a deep void in our club."

This tragic loss has sent ripples through both the local football community and those associated with Bayern’s grassroots outreach. Many players and families who witnessed the incident are now receiving support.
