The Athletic reports that the anticipated transfer of young striker Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea has fallen through at the last moment.

Atletico Madrid had already agreed on deals with Chelsea and Manchester City regarding the transfers of Conor Gallagher and Julian Alvarez, respectively. One of the prerequisites for the successful completion of these transfers was the move of young striker Samuel Omorodion, who was expected to join Chelsea.

No issues were anticipated in this deal, as Atletico and Chelsea quickly aligned on a transfer fee of €40 million. However, an unexpected snag occurred with the contract, as The Athletic reports that there was a significant disagreement between Chelsea's offer and the player's expectations. The issue was so substantial that it caused the entire deal to collapse.

The failed transfer of Omorodion has created a new situation, where it is unclear when and how Atletico will finalize the major signings of Gallagher and Alvarez. Gallagher is already training with Atletico's team, and Alvarez has also arrived in Madrid, signing autographs, yet neither transfer has been officially confirmed.

Meanwhile, new rumors have emerged in both England and Spain, suggesting that Atletico and Chelsea might return to the negotiation table to discuss the possible transfer of Joao Felix. Felix, who previously played for Chelsea on loan from Atletico, could be part of the renewed discussions.
