Yusuf Akçiçek made his senior debut for Turkey against Hungary and is already drawing interest from Bayern, Man United, Napoli, and others after impressing at Fenerbahçe.

Turkey cruised to a 3–0 win over Hungary in the Nations League, but the night also marked the international debut of one of their most promising young players—Yusuf Akçiçek.

The 19-year-old central defender came on in the 82nd minute to make his first appearance for the senior national team. A product of Fenerbahçe, Akçiçek has already played 20 matches for the Istanbul giants, including 16 this season, scoring two goals from defence.

His rise has not gone unnoticed. Bayern Munich have had him on their radar for some time, but they’re not alone. Manchester United, Napoli, Atletico Madrid and RB Leipzig are also monitoring his development closely.

Fenerbahçe currently have Akçiçek under contract until 2028, but given the growing interest, they’re now reportedly preparing a contract extension until at least 2030, with a significant salary increase and a well-defined transfer clause.

Known for his strength on the left side of central defence and composure beyond his years, Akçiçek could become a major figure for both club and country if his progression continues. Turkey may have just launched their next big defensive star.
