Dinamo Zagreb's Martin Baturina is attracting strong interest from Galatasaray, aiming to strengthen their midfield and future-proof their squad ahead of a key Croatian league derby.
With the Croatian football classic between Hajduk Split and Dinamo Zagreb set for Saturday at Poljud Stadium, fresh transfer rumors have emerged involving Dinamo’s prized midfielder, Martin Baturina.
The 21-year-old, currently the most valuable player in the Croatian SuperSport HNL with a market valuation of €22 million, has been linked with a move to yet another European heavyweight. This past summer, Dinamo rejected a substantial €18 million bid from Fiorentina, including bonuses, choosing instead to retain Baturina for their Champions League group stage campaign.
Since then, clubs such as Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, and Eintracht Frankfurt have been frequently mentioned among interested suitors. The latest club reportedly keen on securing Baturina’s signature is Turkish giants Galatasaray.
According to Turkish outlet Aspor, Galatasaray, currently topping the Turkish Süper Lig with a five-point advantage over rivals Fenerbahçe, sees Baturina as a vital addition to their midfield setup.
“While Galatasaray's management is pleased with performances from their Belgian star Dries Mertens, the club aims to recruit another genuine playmaker alongside him. Bringing in a young talent like Baturina is viewed as a strategic move to strengthen the squad significantly for the future. The club is determined to finalize this transfer,” reported Aspor.
Baturina has amassed 161 appearances for Dinamo across all competitions, contributing 22 goals and 38 assists. His current contract runs until the summer of 2028.
