Over ten million viewers watched the Netherlands vs. Turkey match on German RTL, but none saw Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the live broadcast.

More than ten million viewers watched the Netherlands vs. Turkey match on German RTL, but none of them saw Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the live broadcast.

Unlike Prince William, who was shown during England's victory, the Turkish President was not displayed during the match at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.

Journalists from Bild sent an inquiry to RTL asking why the Turkish President was not shown in the live broadcast. "The signal we broadcast is received from UEFA," RTL briefly replied, after which Bild contacted UEFA.

UEFA responded that the VIP tribune with Erdoğan was shown on television after the national anthems were played before the start of the match. They avoided further discussion on why the Turkish President was not shown during the live broadcast on German RTL.

However, it is evident that some mistake occurred as viewers did not see the Turkish President on TV.

To recap, the Netherlands won against Turkey with a score of 2-1 after a comeback and will play against England in the semifinals.
