Jaka Bijol has been one of Udinese’s standout performers this season, and with growing interest from top clubs, a summer transfer is becoming increasingly likely.
After a tense relegation battle last season, Udinese has turned things around this year, climbing the Serie A table under coach Kosta Runjaić. A key figure in this resurgence has been Slovenian defender Jaka Bijol, who continues to deliver consistent performances at the heart of the defense.
Udinese currently sits 10th in Serie A, a significant improvement from last year’s struggles. Their latest victory came against Parma, now coached by Christian Chivu, with Florian Thauvin converting a penalty to secure the three points.
Both Slovenian internationals, Bijol and Sandi Lovrić, played the full 90 minutes. Bijol was Udinese’s second-best-rated player on SofaScore (7.9), behind only the match-winner Thauvin, while Lovrić earned a 7.3 rating.
A summer move on the horizon?
Now in his third season at Udinese, Bijol is widely expected to leave in the summer. He has been on the radar of several clubs, with Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe among the most recent suitors. Italian and other European clubs have also shown interest, with Udinese reportedly demanding between €18-20 million for his transfer.
A full interview with Jaka Bijol will soon be available on Nogomania.
