Cameras caught 18-year-old Spain and Barcelona star Lamine Yamal angrily searching for his lost passport after the Turkey match, delaying his team’s departure to the airport.
Lamine Yamal might already be one of the biggest names in world football, but at just 18 years old, he is still experiencing the typical troubles of a teenager. After Spain’s 6-0 win over Turkey, the Barcelona star misplaced his passport — and the entire squad had to wait.
As the Spanish national team prepared to leave for the airport, cameras caught Yamal frantically searching for his documents. Clearly upset, the forward could be seen venting his frustration on himself as the situation dragged on.
According to Turkish media, Yamal kept his teammates waiting for more than an hour. He reportedly went back toward the dressing rooms at the stadium to search for the passport but was unable to find it.
It remains unclear how Yamal managed to clear border controls without it, but reports suggest he eventually returned to Spain with the rest of the team. His next focus is on Barcelona’s La Liga clash with Valencia this Sunday.
