Check out the grand celebration at Madrid's Cibeles Square, where nearly half a million fans welcomed the new European champions yesterday.
Yesterday, the closing event of the European Championship took place at the famous Cibeles Square in Madrid, from the perspective of the new European champions who brought home a record fourth title.
At the square, where Real Madrid fans traditionally celebrate their trophies, more than half a million people gathered, according to the Spanish government, to enthusiastically greet the new European champions.
Upon returning home, the Spanish national team was first received at the Royal Palace of Zarzuela, where King Felipe VI congratulated the players on their title win. They then paid a brief visit to Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, with the highlight being the grand celebration at Cibeles, where young Spanish football stars Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal received the loudest applause.
