Valencia resumes work on Nou Mestalla after 16 years, with the €300 million stadium set to open for the 2027/28 season, hosting 70,044 fans in a world-class venue.

La Liga will soon welcome another world-class stadium capable of hosting high-profile matches under FIFA or UEFA. Valencia CF today announced the long-awaited resumption of construction on Nou Mestalla, a project plagued by financial difficulties that stalled work for a staggering 16 years.

Starting this January, construction will restart on the 70,044-seat stadium, with completion expected by the beginning of the 2027/28 season. The new stadium is set to be a spectacular addition to Spanish football infrastructure, despite Valencia’s ongoing sporting struggles in recent years.

The total investment for Nou Mestalla is estimated at €300 million. As part of an agreement between La Liga and the CVC fund, Valencia will allocate €80 million towards the project. The remaining funding will come from the sale of executive suites and a long-term loan of €186 million.

To celebrate the milestone, Valencia released a video showcasing the stunning design of their future home, offering fans a glimpse of the long-overdue stadium that could rejuvenate the club’s fortunes.
