Rafael van der Vaart continues to heap praise on Croatian footballer Alen Halilović, now suggesting that Ajax should consider signing him after his resurgence at Fortuna Sittard.
After years of wandering across Europe, Alen Halilović has rediscovered his form at Fortuna Sittard, impressing with his performances last season. Many expected the Croatian talent to make a big career move to a stronger league after his resurgence, but Halilović remained at Fortuna, where he has continued to shine, scoring two goals in his first three league matches this season.
Rafael van der Vaart, the Dutch football legend, has been a vocal admirer of Halilović and was instrumental in bringing him back to Dutch football. Now, van der Vaart is advocating for Halilović to join Ajax. During an appearance on the TV show Rondo, van der Vaart said:
"Halilović would be excellent playing behind Brian Brobbey, with Steven Bergwijn on the left and Bergwijn on the right wing. Ajax should definitely sign him."
Van der Vaart added: "The guy has so much quality and technique. He is a true natural talent. If Ajax works on this transfer, he could definitely join them."
