Veronique Rabiot will file a legal complaint against PSG ultras following offensive banners displayed targeting her and son Adrien during the Marseille-PSG classic.
Veronique Rabiot, mother and agent of Olympique Marseille midfielder Adrien Rabiot, has confirmed she will file a formal complaint following offensive insults directed at her by Paris Saint-Germain ultras during Sunday's French classic.
The rivalry clash between PSG and Marseille turned especially hostile as the ultras group, known as the Collectif Ultras Paris (CUP), launched severe verbal attacks towards Adrien and Veronique Rabiot, with the Marseille player captaining his current club against the team that developed him.
Insulting banners displayed by PSG’s CUP fan group included harsh statements such as "Telle mère, tel fils (Like mother, like son)", directly targeting Veronique due to her involvement in Adrien’s controversial exit from PSG last year and subsequent signing for their bitter rivals Marseille.
Speaking to France Info, Veronique Rabiot expressed her outrage and frustration:
"Of course, I'll file a complaint. I don’t understand why the match wasn’t stopped immediately. Why isn’t anyone outraged? I'm genuinely appalled."
She further criticized authorities for failing to intervene promptly, emphasizing that this kind of hostility should never be normalized or overlooked:
"I really don't understand why the match wasn’t suspended. It shocks me that no one seems to be outraged by this."
The incident has reignited tensions between the Rabiot family and PSG supporters, adding yet another controversial chapter to an already heated rivalry.
