Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, is at the center of controversy following allegations of a late-night altercation with a journalist in Istanbul.

The incident reportedly involved physical and verbal confrontation and has garnered widespread attention.

The journalist, identified as Bozduman, claims the encounter occurred as Osimhen was leaving an entertainment venue with friends. According to Bozduman’s account, the situation escalated when he and his colleagues began filming the player. "I filmed Osimhen at the door with three of my colleagues. When the flashes went off, all hell broke loose. He ran towards me, screaming. He tried to take my camera away from me, but I didn’t let him," said Bozduman.

Bozduman further alleged, "The punch he threw hit me in the head. My right side still hurts. He then started swearing. Then he offered, ‘Destroy the footage, I’ll give you money.’ When I refused, he threatened me by saying, ‘I’ll destroy you.’"

Neither Osimhen nor Galatasaray has publicly addressed the claims. The club has refrained from issuing an official statement, and the Nigerian international remains silent on the matter.

On the pitch, Osimhen has been a standout performer for Galatasaray this season, scoring 15 goals and providing six assists in 19 appearances across all competitions. As the team prepares for a crucial Trendyol Super League clash against Konyaspor on Friday, coach Okan Buruk will hope the controversy does not affect the forward’s focus.

While details of the alleged incident continue to emerge, the situation has cast a shadow over Osimhen’s otherwise stellar campaign at Rams Park.
