The Nigerian striker shared the moment he finally met Ronaldo and revealed his admiration for Messi and Neymar.
Victor Osimhen has revealed he once waited nearly an hour to take a selfie with Cristiano Ronaldo, saying he didn’t care if his team had just lost — it was a moment he wasn’t going to miss.
The Nigerian striker, who played against Ronaldo in a 2021 clash between Napoli and Juventus, shared the story during an interview with Daddy Freeze. He admitted he had dreamed of meeting football icons like Ronaldo, Messi, and Neymar since childhood.
"I used to say to my friends, the day I’m going to play against Ronaldo, Messi, or Neymar – these are legends, people I love so much – I’m taking a picture with them. I don’t care, even if we lose 10-0!" Osimhen said.
After that Juventus match, Osimhen mustered the courage to ask Ronaldo for a photo. The Portuguese superstar told him, "Yeah, come to the dressing room." But things didn’t go as quickly as Osimhen hoped.
He was intercepted by Gianluigi Buffon, who told him Ronaldo was in the gym. "He told me to sit with him. We were just talking. It was almost 30 minutes, he was not out yet. I waited for one hour, he was still working out."
When Ronaldo finally appeared, Osimhen couldn’t help but admire his physical condition: "Look at the laps and the veins – you’d think he was 25 at that time." Ronaldo complimented him, saying, "Great game, just keep on going."
Ronaldo, now 40, continues to lead Al-Nassr and is set to extend his contract in Saudi Arabia after recently guiding Portugal to UEFA Nations League glory.
Osimhen, on the other hand, has refused offers from the Middle East, still waiting on a dream move to a European powerhouse like Manchester United.
