Vinicius Junior has returned to Real Madrid training and revealed that new coach Jose Mourinho gave him a simple message during their first meeting.

Vinicius Junior has returned to Real Madrid after his summer break following the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and the Brazilian has already had his first conversation with new head coach Jose Mourinho.
With uncertainty still surrounding his long-term future at the Santiago Bernabéu, the 26-year-old winger revealed that Mourinho's first message was surprisingly simple.
"Just be happy"
Speaking to Real Madrid TV after rejoining the squad, Vinicius said he had already settled back into life at the club.
"I met the new coach and the new players. I've been training hard."
He then revealed exactly what Mourinho told him during their first meeting.
"Mourinho asked me for only three things: to be happy, to enjoy myself and to play football my way."
The Portuguese coach's message appears to underline his confidence in one of Real Madrid's biggest stars as preparations for the new season continue.
Contract uncertainty remains
Despite returning to training, Vinicius' future remains one of the biggest talking points in Madrid.
The Brazilian has entered the final year of his current contract, while negotiations over an extension have yet to produce an agreement.
