Vinicius Junior delivered a stellar performance at the Etihad Stadium, providing two assists in Real Madrid’s thrilling Champions League encounter against Manchester City.
Vinicius Junior had no hard feelings toward Manchester City fans after a dramatic night in the Champions League. The Brazilian winger, who was instrumental in Real Madrid’s comeback, responded to their taunts after the game.
The Man of the Match, Vinicius, played a key role in helping Los Blancos recover twice, setting up two crucial goals in a high-intensity battle.
Before the game, Manchester City fans displayed a banner mocking Vinicius with an image of Rodri and a reference to the Ballon d’Or. However, the Real Madrid star took it as motivation.
“I saw the banner. Whatever the opposing fans do, they only give me more strength to play even better. And I did that. They know our history, they know what Real means in the Champions League. This is our fifth time here, it's always very cold, but this time we won,” said Vinicius Junior.
Despite his outstanding display, Vinicius kept his focus on the bigger picture.
“We played well, I played well, in the end it doesn't matter who scored the goal and who is the MVP. Of course, this match is not over yet.”
Asked about his contract situation, the 23-year-old confirmed there were no new updates but expressed his desire to remain at Real Madrid.
“I don't know anything new about it. I have to talk to the club president, I hope I can stay at Real for a long time.”
