Dušan Vlahović rejects Juventus' first contract extension offer, seeking €10 million plus bonuses, as negotiations continue.
Serbian striker Dušan Vlahović has reportedly rejected Juventus' initial offer for a contract extension, demanding an additional €2 million compared to the club's proposal, according to Calciomercato.
Vlahović recently ended his goal-scoring drought, silencing critics for the time being, but his future remains a hot topic in the Italian press. Juventus is eager to renew his contract to avoid a situation similar to Federico Chiesa, whom they were forced to sell for €12 million (plus €3 million in bonuses) after entering the final year of his deal.
Juventus aims to secure Vlahović's future before next July, when his current contract approaches its final year. If they fail to extend his contract, the club risks having to sell him at a lower price, which could hurt their finances.
Another factor driving Juventus' desire to renew Vlahović’s contract is their effort to ease the wage bill. Currently, the Serbian international earns a net salary of €12 million annually, the highest at the club. Juventus reportedly proposed a contract extension until 2028 or 2029, offering €8 million plus bonuses per season—essentially spreading his current salary over a longer period.
However, Vlahović and his agent have rejected this proposal, seeking a salary of €10 million plus bonuses. The two sides remain far apart in negotiations, and while Juventus is keen to reach an agreement, the next meeting with Vlahović's agent, Darko Ristić, is not expected until December.
