Roy Keane teased Gary Neville over David Beckham’s 50th birthday party snub, while Neville admitted struggling at work the next day after the star-studded celebration.
Roy Keane has taken a playful jab at former teammate David Beckham for not inviting him to his lavish 50th birthday party, saying, “Were we not good enough?”
The party was held at the Michelin-starred Core restaurant in London and attended by A-listers like Tom Cruise and Gordon Ramsay. The only former Manchester United teammate in attendance appeared to be Gary Neville, who was later teased for looking worse for wear during his commentary duties the following day.
On the latest episode of *Stick to Football*, Keane asked Neville: “Did he forget about all his other team-mates?” Neville responded by teasing Keane about his own birthday, which Keane claimed was celebrated at a Pizza Express. “I didn’t want you there, obviously,” Keane joked back.
Jill Scott brought up the event and the photos of Neville, saying: “You looked a bit worse for wear.” Neville admitted: “I wasn’t the best on Sunday.”
Following the party, Beckham and Neville announced a new business move—completing the takeover of Salford City, a League Two club. The pair were already involved via the Class of '92 project but have now formed a new ownership group with Declan Kelly and Lord Mervyn Davies.
Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Phil Neville, and Paul Scholes have been bought out but will still remain involved in some capacity. Beckham said: “Salford City is at the heart of its community and I am delighted to be a part of the next chapter.”
