German star Florian Wirtz denies reports claiming he demanded Liverpool's No. 10 shirt, insisting he respects the squad and warning fans not to believe every rumour.

Florian Wirtz has publicly dismissed rumours claiming he demanded to wear the number 10 shirt if he joins Liverpool, urging fans not to believe every report they read in the media.

The Bayer Leverkusen star is currently on international duty with Germany as negotiations between the Bundesliga champions and Liverpool continue behind the scenes. The proposed transfer is expected to be one of the summer's biggest moves, with record-breaking figures involved.

A report emerged recently suggesting that Wirtz requested the number 10 jersey, currently worn by Alexis Mac Allister, which sparked a backlash among Liverpool supporters. Many viewed it as disrespectful towards the Argentine midfielder, who played a key role in the club’s recent title-winning campaign.

Wirtz has now responded directly to the speculation via his official Instagram account, clearly refuting the claim:

"Who says I want number 10? I respect the players. Don't believe everything you read."

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder remains a top target for Jürgen Klopp’s successor, and is reportedly keen on the move. However, he appears determined to keep his focus on football rather than rumours as the transfer discussions continue.
