Bosnia and Herzegovina international Kerim Alajbegović is set to join Juventus in a €40 million deal after the Italian giants beat Chelsea to his signature.

Juventus have won the race to sign one of Europe's brightest young talents, with Kerim Alajbegović set to become the club's newest player in a deal worth up to €40 million.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Fabrizio Romano and Sky Sport Germany, the Bosnia and Herzegovina international is on the verge of completing his move from Bayer Leverkusen, with only the player's final approval and remaining formalities left before the transfer is officially confirmed.
For several days, Chelsea appeared to be leading the race for the highly-rated midfielder. However, Juventus made a late move and successfully hijacked the deal, convincing both Bayer Leverkusen and the player to choose Turin.
The transfer package is expected to be worth around €40 million, consisting of €33 million guaranteed and a further €7 million in performance-related bonuses.
Milan, Roma, Napoli and Atalanta also showed strong interest in the 18-year-old, but ultimately failed to meet Bayer Leverkusen's financial demands. Alajbegović had reportedly expressed a preference for continuing his career in Serie A, making Juventus the ideal destination.
The talented midfielder enjoyed an impressive campaign on loan at Red Bull Salzburg last season, scoring 13 goals and providing four assists in 44 appearances.
Before joining Bayer Leverkusen, Alajbegović developed at Cologne, and he now prepares for the biggest challenge of his career by joining one of Italy's most successful clubs.
After impressing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and attracting interest from several European giants, Alajbegović has secured the move many expected, with Juventus winning one of the summer's most competitive transfer battles.
