Ansu Fati is expected to remain at AS Monaco after rebuilding his career in Ligue 1 following difficult years with injuries at Barcelona.
Ansu Fati finally appears to have rediscovered stability after several difficult years, and everything suggests his future will remain in France.
According to multiple reports, AS Monaco are preparing to activate the option to sign the Spanish winger permanently for around €11 million.
The former Barcelona talent has struggled with injuries again this season, but overall he has made a strong impression in Ligue 1.
Fati has contributed 11 goals in 28 appearances across all competitions and averages a goal contribution every 109 minutes.
That level of production has reportedly convinced Monaco that the 21-year-old deserves a long-term future at the club.
Years ago, Fati was viewed as the future of Barcelona and was often described as the “Yamal before Yamal” because of the enormous expectations placed on him as a teenager.
He even inherited the legendary number 10 shirt at Barcelona during a difficult period for the club and was considered one of the brightest young stars in world football.
However, repeated injuries stopped his development and prevented him from fully establishing himself in Spain.
Despite those setbacks, many still believe Fati has enough talent and time to build a major career at the highest level.
Meanwhile, Monaco are entering a decisive phase of the season.
The fight for European qualification in Ligue 1 remains extremely tight, with only two rounds left to play.
Monaco are still battling for a place in the Champions League, but there is also a risk they could miss European competition entirely.
The upcoming clash against Lille, currently fourth in the table, is already being described as Monaco’s “match of the season.”
At the same time, Barcelona are close to celebrating another La Liga title and are preparing for a huge El Clasico showdown against Real Madrid on Sunday.
